Remove conservatory and construct new rear kitchen

PROJECT DATA SHEETClient: Mrs. M Location: Hazeldell, Watton at Stone, Hertfordshire Description: Remove conservatory and construct new rear kitchen diner and front extension. Brief :This customer wanted us to remove the old run down conservatory to the rear aspect of the property and provide a large functional space in which the existing rear galley kitchen would extend and a new large dining area could be formed. This Rialto property built in about 1970 was in need of a face lift at the front and the rear, so we designed an attractive rear extension with brick detailing to enhance the appearance of the property and bring it a little bit more into the 21st century. The owners also expressed that the house as a whole was not very warm. This could be due in part to the lack on insulation when first constructed and also because the front door is situated in the lounge. We were also asked to provide a WC with shower, utility room, and a study and still achieve off street parking at the front for two cars. We addressed these points by designing a 1.5m extension to the
front of the property. Introducing an insulated pitched roof provides
some additional thermal protection from the elements to just below
the cills of the upstairs windows. As you can see from the plan
we have managed to achieve the customers’ room requirements
and even include an extra room off the lounge for a cinema / plasma
screen television. Drawings
