Description : Demolish and rebuild new bungalow

Brief :

We were asked to provide a rear and side extension to the original property and to convert the loft into 3 bedrooms consisting of one master and two smaller bedrooms all with en-suites. The ground floor was going to have an entrance lobby, the front bedroom converted to a study, a large lounge, and a kitchen diner.

After working up the drawings based on this brief we decided to provide an alternative option showing what could be achieved if the bungalow was demolished and a new property built in its place to exactly the same position, footprint and height, apart from the new side and rear extensions, as the original property. The original bungalow had just 91m2 of floor area. The proposed bungalow, with the additional area in both the roof and the basement has now achieved an amazing 300m2 floor area.

We presented this alternative option to Mr. G. and with his approval we have now submitted this set of plans for planning approval.
